In this role, you will lead fire alarm, life safety, security, prime, and design-build projects from initial planning through final closeout. Reporting to the Manager of Project Management, you will oversee project scope, budgets, schedules, quality, and field execution while mentoring junior team members and building strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage concurrent fire alarm and life safety projects from planning to completion, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Lead site visits, pre-tests, commissioning, and FDNY inspections. Oversee field layouts, conduit prep, wiring, testing, and job site safety.
  • Act as the primary liaison between internal teams, field staff, subcontractors, architects, vendors, inspectors, and clients.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, engineering documents, and specifications to align field execution plans.
  • Ensure projects adhere to NYC Building Code, NFPA, HRFS, ADA, and electrical code standards. Identify non-conformance issues and deliver practical technical solutions.
  • Supervise, support, and mentor field installers, junior technicians, and junior Project Managers.
  • Maintain accurate work orders, materials records, and closeout documents. Support the Sales team with site walkthroughs and takeoffs.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Associate degree in Engineering + 6 years of PM experience, OR equivalent combined experience. Must include at least 4 years managing fire alarm or life safety projects.
  • Hands-on knowledge of fire alarm systems, electrical theory, and troubleshooting. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with NYC Building Code, NFPA, NEC Article 760, and ADA guidelines (EST system knowledge is a plus).
  • Strong multi-project scheduling, budgeting, team leadership, and client communication. Proficient in MS Office and comfortable working between office and field environments.
