Job description

Opportunity

We are partnering with a growing real estate investment platform and datacenter developer seeking an HR Manager to help build and develop its internal HR function.

This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys building, solving problems, and working closely with employees and leadership. The ideal candidate will have enough experience to operate independently but is still hands-on, adaptable, and excited to develop processes rather than simply maintain an established HR infrastructure.

You will serve as a key point of contact for employees and managers across the organization, supporting the full employee lifecycle from recruiting and onboarding through employee relations, benefits, compliance, and offboarding.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Serve as a trusted first point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures
  • Handle employee relations matters in a timely, fair, and consistent manner
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements
  • Monitor regulatory updates and advise leadership accordingly
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Partner with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and identify talent
  • Support candidate screening, interview coordination, offers, and pre-employment processes
  • Develop thoughtful onboarding experiences for new employees
  • Help build and improve the organization's recruiting infrastructure

Benefits & Compensation

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and leave plans
  • Support open enrollment, benefits audits, and vendor management
  • Assist with compensation benchmarking and job evaluation

Learning & Development

  • Coordinate training, compliance programs, and professional development initiatives
  • Track required training and support the annual performance review process

HR Operations & Projects

  • Track and analyze HR metrics including turnover, headcount, and time-to-fill
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and programs
  • Serve as the primary HRIS administrator
  • Support the evaluation and implementation of recruiting technology and systems

Ideal Candidate

  • 5–7 years of progressive HR experience
  • Experience in a smaller or entrepreneurial organization preferred
  • Real estate, professional services, financial services, or another client-focused environment is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment regulations
  • Experience with HRIS platforms; Gusto experience is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly personable and approachable, with the ability to build trust across an organization
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and limited direction
  • A self-starter who takes ownership and follows through
  • Able to build practical processes without over-engineering them
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

This role is best suited for someone who likes to build.

The organization is growing quickly, and while some HR processes are already in place, this person will have significant ownership in developing the function going forward. We are looking for someone who can bring structure where it adds value while remaining flexible enough to operate in a fluid, entrepreneurial environment.

If you're an HR professional who wants meaningful ownership, enjoys working directly with people and leadership, and is excited by the opportunity to build something from the ground up, we'd like to hear from you.
