Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Summary:

Harbor Health & Rehab, a leading provider of rehabilitation services in East Chicago, Indiana, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping our residents recover from illnesses or injuries and regain their independence. Responsibilities:

• Assist licensed physical therapists in the delivery of patient care, including administering therapeutic treatments, exercises, and modalities

• Conduct physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a physical therapist, including exercises, stretches, and modalities

• Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the physical therapist

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans

• Maintains accurate and detailed records of patient treatments and progress

• Ensures a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and facilities

Requirements:

• Current certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the state of Indiana

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in physical therapy or related field preferred

• Previous experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably in a rehab or acute care setting

• Ability to lift, move, or transfer patients weighing up to 50 pounds

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
