About This Role

As a key member of our teaching team, you will be responsible for implementing a cohesive and engaging educational curriculum, fostering a collaborative environment, and contributing to the smooth operation of our classroom. To ensure the well-being and growth of our students, you must possess a deep understanding of child development, enabling you to create a safe and stimulating environment that encourages active engagement and fosters success. Strong communication skills are essential to effectively collaborate with colleagues, guide teacher assistants, and address parental concerns.


What You'll Do
  • Develop and implement educational curriculum by designing activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards, and lead the teaching team by setting a positive example and offering coaching.
  • Encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth by planning engaging individual and group activities.
  • Build strong relationships with parents through regular communication, including progress reports, parent-teacher conferences and informal discussions.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment, adhering to hygiene, cleanliness and safety standards, and supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure adherence to planned activities and guidelines.
  • Manage classroom operations, ensuring compliance with center policies and state regulations.
  • Plan and implement activities that promote children's physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities and adhering to guidelines.
  • Keep accurate records, files and forms up to date.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest professional development opportunities to continuously improve quality and effectiveness.

Requirements
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
  • Associate’s degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional childcare experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
