Buyer – HVAC - Import Sourcing

Brock Air Products, Inc. is an industry-leading HVAC business that includes wholesale, eCommerce, private label, brick and mortar, and manufacturing divisions. Headquartered in Troy, Ohio, we're a fast-growing, nationwide business looking for a results-oriented individual to support our direct-to-consumer and private label businesses as a strategic purchasing agent for import products. 

The HVAC Buyer will play a significant role in the overall profitability and operating efficiency of the organization by developing and executing a strategic approach to purchasing and sourcing. Their focus will be on direct import sourcing to grow our net margins and expand our product catalog. Their strategy will touch all parts of the sourcing and procurement process, including vendor selection and negotiations, forecasting, pricing, program, and terms.   

The Buyer will work closely with Merchandising, Brand Management, and Marketing to determine opportunities to add to our catalog and to improve margins. They will lead the efforts in finding new sources for products that will be competitive in the market and allow us to continue to grow our business. They will also work with current suppliers to find new ways to improve our margins and our offerings. Staying ahead of our competition in new product development and pricing will help us keep our leading edge in the market. 

The Buyer will have a strong background in the HVAC industry or related fields with proven experience in direct import sourcing. They will have first-hand knowledge of available suppliers and product offerings and will be well-versed in new product development procedures, pricing negotiations, private label practices, and implementing RFPs.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Lead vendor relationships and negotiations, including selecting and onboarding new suppliers, conducting RFPs, and obtaining rebate and discount opportunities
• Collaborating with Brand Management to expand private label offerings by direct-sourcing products
• Margin expansion through pricing and program negotiations with new and current suppliers
• Annual RFPs with current suppliers to ensure 
• Create and maintain a strategic product roadmap for branded and private label catalogs
• Improve SOPs for the procurement and replenishment processes

Qualifications:

• 5 – 7 years experience in purchasing, merchandising, or product management roles
• Experience in HVAC, Plumbing or Electrical industries
• Experience with EDI, ERP, and WM software
• Staff management or Team leadership experience
• Proven experience in eCommerce, retail, wholesale, or distribution environments
