Job description

Job Qualifications
  1. Education: High School Diploma, GED. Bachelor's degree or Higher Preferred
  2. Personal Job-Related Skills:

  5. Basic computer skills include use of keyboard and mouse.
  6. Minimum: Familiarity with EHR Preferred: Cerner EHR super-user
  7. Licensure, Registry or Certification:
    1. High School Diploma, GED
    2. Bachelor's degree or Higher Preferred
  8. Experience:
  9. Prior Work Experience: Three (3) years in an ambulatory care setting required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Planning:
  1. Develops and maintains nursing practice that is consistent with standards and best practices.
  2. Maintains current job descriptions for all categories of clinical staff within the ambulatory setting.
  3. Schedules clinical staff to ensure maximum efficiency and nursing student schedules for maximum learning.
  4. Assumes responsibility for identifying problem areas of patient care and formulates plans of action to solve them.
  5. Ensure proper handling of patients, visitors, and employees involved in accidents while in the building or on the job.
  6. Establishes clinic nursing goals and objectives and evaluates progress toward their achievement.

Implementation:
  1. Reviews and implements departmental policies and procedures.
  2. Develops and monitors quality metrics in conjunction with Goodall-Witcher system CNO, Quality Director, Clinic Medical Director, and other clinic leadership teams.
  3. Develops and coordinates clinic nursing education programs. Create and maintain annual clinical staff competency.
  4. Ensures compliance with state and federal law.
  5. Ensure nursing licensure and certifications are current.
  6. Establish clinic new hire orientation process.

Support:
  1. Supervises/delegates the procurement of drugs and supplies.
  2. Assists with walk-in patient distribution.
  3. Assists with handling patient complaints.
  4. Triages in-coming telephone calls as necessary
  5. Assess patients and coordinates care as appropriate.
  6. Provides coverage for clinic staff to ensure efficiency of patient care

Advocacy:
  1. Acts as a liaison between patient, physicians, family/significant other and other hospital disciplines.
  2. Advocates for and supports patient's decisions.
  3. Advocates for Goodall-Witcher in all aspects.

Communication/Interpersonal Relationships:
  1. Collaborates with patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
  2. Provides service direct to patients while maintaining a positive patient relationship.

Professional Development:
  1. Attends staff meetings. Completes annual review and required certifications as required prior to annual evaluation.
  2. Serves on clinic and hospital committees as assigned.
  3. Seeks new learning experiences and certifications.

Leadership:
  1. Willing to help and mentor nursing assistants with less experience and skills.
  2. Consistently reviews all functions of the clinic to ensure alignment with the overall mission of Goodall-Witcher.
  3. Looks for ways to improve quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  4. This position will have responsibility for all clinical staff (i.e. LVN, CNA, MA, and scribes).
  5. Provides constant communication of process changes, quality measures and progress of each to clinic staff.
  6. Responsible for payroll functions of clinical staff within the clinic.
  7. Recruits, interviews, and training of new clinical hires
  8. Establishes supply and staffing needs for the clinic.
  9. Performs employee evaluations.
  10. Counsel employees with respect to HR issues in conjunction with HR.
  11. Acts as clinic leadership when director is not available.
  12. Other job duties as assigned.
