Role Description The Safety Professional at Galaxy X is a full-time, on-site role based in Dearborn Heights, MI. This role is responsible for implementing and monitoring health and safety programs, conducting regular workplace inspections, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. Day-to-day tasks include identifying hazards, performing risk assessments, leading incident and accident investigations, and maintaining accurate safety records and reports. The Safety Professional will deliver safety training sessions, support emergency response planning, and collaborate with leaders and team members to promote a strong safety culture. This position also involves recommending corrective actions, tracking safety metrics, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives related to environmental health and occupational safety.
Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in Health & Safety and Occupational Health, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Experience in Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including hazard identification, risk assessment, and compliance monitoring.
  • Proficiency in Safety Training, with the ability to develop and deliver clear, engaging training programs for diverse audiences.
  • Hands-on experience in Accident Investigation, incident reporting, and root cause analysis to support preventive actions.
  • Relevant certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHST, or equivalent are beneficial.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Competence in using MS Office and safety management systems or related software.
  • Ability to perform on-site inspections and, where necessary, use personal protective equipment in various work environments.
