WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST
Location: Laval, QC
Terms: Full-Time Permanent and On-Site
Compensation: $24–$26/hour
Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
This role is on behalf of an established international machinery and engineering company with a distribution centre in Laval, QC. The company has been in operation for over 70 years and is a recognized leader in technically advanced niche markets globally.
Their Laval office operates with a small, tight-knit team where long-term tenure is the norm — many team members have been with the company for over 20 years. The culture is family-oriented, collaborative, and people-first.
This is not a typical warehouse role. This is a career growth opportunity for someone ready to take full ownership of a one-person warehouse operation and grow with a company that genuinely invests in its people.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
You will be responsible for the entire warehouse and logistics function — independently managing day-to-day operations with full autonomy after an initial training period. This person must be plug-and-play capable, able to create systems rather than just follow them, and comfortable making independent decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shipping & Receiving
- Prepare, package, and ship outgoing orders with precision
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for quantity, quality, and damages
- Resolve discrepancies directly with suppliers
Inventory & Organization
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and stock replenishment
- Conduct annual inventory counts
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and efficient at all times
Logistics & Coordination
- Coordinate transportation and obtain shipping quotes
- Prepare shipping documentation including commercial invoices
- Track shipments using SAP or similar ERP systems
Client & Team Communication
- Communicate with long-term customers, suppliers, and the internal team
- Build first-name relationships with key clients across Quebec and Canada
- Support general operations as needed
Process Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies and improve workflows
- Optimize warehouse organization and systems
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
Physical Requirements
- Lift and move materials up to 50 lbs
- Operate forklift and warehouse equipment
MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2–5+ years of experience in warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, or logistics
- Fully bilingual French and English — written and spoken (non-negotiable)
- Forklift certification or experience (company will cover renewal upon hire)
- Basic computer skills — Outlook, Excel, ERP systems
- Strong communication skills for client-facing interactions
- Ability to work independently, take full ownership, and make autonomous decisions
Assets:
- SAP or ERP system experience
- Experience in a small team or multi-role environment
- Experience improving processes or building systems from scratch
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- $24–$26/hour based on experience
- Guaranteed performance-based increase after 3-month probation
- 100% employer-paid health insurance
- 100% employer-paid dental insurance
- Life insurance
- RRSP matching
- $900/year leisure & wellness allowance (sports equipment, fitness, etc.)
- 3 weeks paid vacation
- Company-paid forklift certification renewal
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
You are someone who thrives in a small, autonomous environment, enjoys building and owning systems rather than just following them, and is looking for long-term stability in a company that genuinely values and invests in its people. No ski or sports industry experience required.
This role is NOT a fit if you prefer a highly structured corporate environment, are only comfortable with repetitive tasks, or are not comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
