G&S Test Solutions is an aerospace and defense MRO company supporting active U.S. Army and Air Force contracts from our facility in Oviedo, FL. We test, troubleshoot, and repair military avionics and electronic systems to the highest standards — and we're looking for a Senior Technician who takes that seriously.
The Role
This is a hands-on bench role for an experienced electronics technician with depot-level repair background. You'll be a core part of our shop floor operations — performing component-level troubleshooting, failure analysis, and depot-level repair on military avionics LRUs and electronic assemblies. If you've spent years at the bench tearing into hardware that most people can't touch, diagnosing failures others can't find, and returning units to full mission capability — this role was written for you.
What You'll Do
- Perform depot-level inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of military avionics and electronic assemblies down to the component level
- Conduct failure analysis on complex electronic systems — identify root cause, document findings, and implement corrective action
- Operate and interpret results from lab test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, and platform-specific TMDE
- Read and work directly from military technical orders, wiring diagrams, schematics, and component-level engineering drawings
- Perform functional testing and verification of repaired units prior to return to service
- Troubleshoot analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits; identify failed components and execute precision board-level repairs including soldering and rework to IPC-A-610 or J-STD standards
- Support incoming inspection, work order documentation, and quality recordkeeping in compliance with DoD MRO requirements
- Assist in developing and refining internal repair procedures and test protocols
- Mentor junior technicians; contribute to a disciplined, quality-first shop culture
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on electronics troubleshooting and repair experience in a military, defense, or depot-level MRO environment
- Demonstrated depot-level repair experience — component-level, not just LRU swap
- Strong technical electronics background with proven ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-layer electronic systems from schematics
- Strong understanding of electronic circuit principles, analog and digital design, and circuit analysis
- Strong understanding of power electronics converter topologies (AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC) and power electronics theory
- Must be able to conduct thorough failure analysis and document findings clearly and accurately
- Proficiency with lab and depot test equipment: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, VNAs, power supplies, LCR meters, and TMDE
- RF experience a strong plus — familiarity with RF systems, RF signal troubleshooting, or RF LRU repair highly desirable
- Experience reading and working from military technical orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, and component datasheets
- IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification preferred; proficiency in precision soldering and PCB rework required
- FAA A&P license a plus but not required for this electronics-focused role
- Active security clearance preferred; clearance-eligible candidates strongly considered
- Must be detail-oriented and able to produce accurate, complete maintenance documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills — methodical, root-cause focused
- Ability to communicate technical findings effectively in writing and verbally
- Able to manage multiple work orders and prioritize independently in a fast-moving shop environment
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Why G&S
Small team, real work, real platforms. At G&S, senior technicians aren't supervised out of their expertise — you'll have the autonomy to do the job right, with the support of leadership that came up the same way.
