ANNOUNCES THE FOLLOWING:

ASSISTANT COUNTY ATTORNEY

This is a permanent full time vacancy in the County Attorney’s Office.

Fulton County residency required.

Typical Work Activities:

Under the direction of the County Attorney, this position represents Fulton County Government, including but not limited to:

General government matters

Contract review

Civil actions and Administrative hearings involving the County of Fulton

Represent the County of Fulton in legal matters pending before Supreme Court, County Court and Family Court

Provide legal advice and guidance to County agencies and officers covering a wide range of subjects, including: constitutional law, statutory law, administrative law, family law, general municipal law, public health law, real property law, tax law and laws involving eminent domain

Assist the County Attorney in resolving issues arising from the day-to-day operations of the County

Represents the County Attorney at meetings with officials from the County, State and Federal government and agencies, as well as with Department heads, Committee Chairs, Legislators and other high-ranking governmental officials

Performs related work as assigned by the County Attorney

Special Qualifications:

A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school

Must be licensed to practice law in New York State and currently in good standing

NYS Public Officers Law requires United States citizenship
