Part-Time Cook – Foundations Learning Academy (FLA Midlo)Fuel Young Minds & Nourish Our Community!

Location: 3700 Midlothian Turnpike, Richmond, VA 23224
Schedule: Part-Time | 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Enjoy having your afternoons free!)
Compensation: Starting at $16.00/hour (increases based on experience)

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare Delicious & Nutritious Meals: Cook and serve healthy breakfasts, lunches, and snacks following established nutrition standards and recipes.
  • Keep Things Fresh & Organized: Help with inventory checks, food prep, and proper ingredient storage to ensure top freshness.
  • Maintain High Standards: Keep a clean, sanitary, and well-organized kitchen in full compliance with local health regulations and food safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate & Smile: Work closely with center staff to ensure meal times run smoothly, efficiently, and on schedule.
What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, or school/childcare dining preferred.
  • Solid understanding of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen prep practices.
  • Dependable, punctual, and organized—especially for early morning starts!
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • A true passion for cooking and nourishing growing children.
  • ServSafe or formal culinary/food handling training is a big plus!
