The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of the FSTC program, ensuring alignment across internal teams and external stakeholders. This role manages roadmaps, timelines, resources, risks, and performance metrics while driving cross-functional collaboration and resolving operational barriers. The Program Manager will support the development of scalable processes and operating models to enable program growth, provide visibility to leadership through regular reporting, and partner with program leadership on team development and resource planning.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide day-to-day work direction and task prioritization for subset of team
  • Coordinate across internal departments and external stakeholders
  • Track program KPIs, prepare executive-level reporting, and present progress to leadership
  • Manage program budget, resource allocation, and vendor relationships
  • Lead weekly team standups, resolve cross-functional blockers, and maintain program risk register
  • Develop and iterate on scalability plans to support client growth
  • Partner with the FSTC Manager on team performance, coaching, and hiring decisions for dotted-line roles

**Pay Range for this role is - $70,000
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
  • 3-5 years of experience in program management, project management, operations, or a related field.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and coordinating work across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience managing project timelines, deliverables, risks, resources, and competing priorities.
  • Experience developing processes, tracking performance metrics, and supporting operational improvements in a growing or changing environment.
  • Experience working with CRM, project management, or program management platforms such as Salesforce, Jira, Asana, or similar tools.

  • Strong program management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, competing priorities, and complex initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks, remove barriers, and drive initiatives to completion.
  • Ability to analyze program data, track key performance indicators, and use insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of project planning, resource management, risk mitigation, and process improvement principles.
  • Ability to develop and implement scalable processes and operating models in a growing or changing environment.
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, work independently, and manage sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with CRM, project management, or program management platforms.

This position offers a hybrid work option. Nelnet values flexibility and understands the importance of work-life integration. Our hybrid work environment allows associates Living within 30 miles our Lincon Nebraska office location to work remotely for part of the week, while also fostering collaboration and team connection through in-office presence three days per week.
