Job description


Morton  Community Unit School District 709, which includes the  communities of Morton and Groveland, is seeking a highly  qualified individual for Morton Junior High School Principal.           This vacancy is due to the advancement of the current principal  to an Administrative position in a nearby district.       District 709 has listed the following qualifications for  candidates.      
Candidates must:     
Possess an Illinois Type 75 Administrative  certificate.   
  Have completed a minimum of two years of administrative  experience (preferred)   
    Have demonstrated successful experience as a classroom  teacher.   
  Possess the ability to work cooperatively with the  Superintendent, Administrative Team, and Board of Education.   
    Be a team player with successful problem solving  skills.   
  Have the ability to communicate clearly and  effectively.   
  Possess the ability to work collaboratively with students,  parents, teachers and administrative team members.   
  Have some experience working with special needs students  as well as students at the elementary level.   
  Possess strong interpersonal skills.   
  Possess knowledge of curriculum.   
  Possess knowledge of the middle school concept.   
    Be an accomplished planner with strong organizational  skills.   
  Be fair, honest, ethical, and have a good sense of  humor.   
  Recognize the role of technology in promoting student  learning and professional growth.   
    Have experience using technology, telecommunications and  information systems to enrich curriculum and instruction.   
    Possess a record of goal achievements (Portfolio).   
The salary  will be regionally comparable to similar positions in the area.           The actual annual salary, fringe benefits, contractual terms and  conditions will be discussed in detail with the final candidates.       Residency is required.    Â
