Job description

Position Summary

As a Server Systems Engineer within Epic's Hosting entity, you will keep our systems up and running in optimal condition so that healthcare organizations can provide amazing care with the help of our software. You'll have a hand in the development of tools to support operating systems, troubleshoot and debug code, and monitor overall system health for some of the largest healthcare organizations in the industry. You'll create disaster and contingency plans, develop and share expert knowledge in systems and database administration, coordinate with third party hardware vendors, and have the opportunity to work with systems on a scale that is pushing the edge of technology.
The work our Server Systems Engineers do touches every area of Epic -- you'll have opportunities to collaborate with developers, technical support, software testers, and implementation specialists across the company. You'll be able to focus and grow your skills in at least one of those areas -- we have scripters and documentation specialists, developers and technical support gurus. You'll build valuable industry-wide skills within the field of Information Technology doing high stakes, critical work that allows healthcare providers to better do what they do best: take great care of patients. Learn more about the team at https://careers.epic.com/Jobs/Hosting.
More than just important work.
Epic is located in Madison, Wisconsin, a city regularly ranked as one of America's best places to live. We offer comprehensive benefits to keep you healthy and happy as you grow in your life and career, and your merit-based compensation will reflect the impact your work has on the company and our customers. You'll also be eligible for annual raises and bonuses, as well as stock grants, which give you an even greater stake in the success of Epic and our customers. Epic is an Equal Opportunity employer. We seek diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences in our mission to improve healthcare. Research has shown that job-seekers who are women, LGBTQ+, or members of the global majority are less likely to apply for roles they don't seem completely qualified for, so we encourage all who are interested to apply.
