Tenet Healthcare is undergoing a significant enterprise transformation and is investing heavily in AI, data science, intelligent automation, and cloud modernisation.

My client are seeking a Senior Director of Data Science & AI to provide strategic leadership across these initiatives and help shape how AI and data science are developed and deployed across the organisation.

The Opportunity

This is a high-impact leadership position sitting at the intersection of technology, product, data, AI, and executive strategy within a highly regulated healthcare environment.

You’ll be responsible for helping define the organisation’s AI strategy while translating that vision into scalable, measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and drive the enterprise AI and data science strategy, from vision through execution and ROI
• Lead a large-scale data & AI organisation of 50+ engineers, data scientists and analysts
• Drive modernisation of AWS-based data platforms and legacy system migrations
• Build and govern agentic AI, machine learning and intelligent automation capabilities
• Develop AI-powered and data-driven experiences that improve member/patient outcomes and engagement
• Partner directly with senior executives to translate complex AI and technology initiatives into clear business outcomes
• Establish responsible AI practices within a HIPAA-compliant healthcare environment
• Build and develop high-performing technical teams and establish a culture of innovation and sustainable delivery
• Provide strategic direction across data science, AI platforms, cloud and enterprise data capabilities

What We're Looking For:

• Senior leadership experience across Data Science, AI and/or Machine Learning
• Proven experience leading large, multidisciplinary data and AI teams
• Strong understanding of AI strategy, ML, GenAI and emerging agentic AI capabilities
• Experience modernising cloud-based data platforms, particularly AWS
• Strong understanding of data architecture, analytics and data science operating models
• Experience translating AI/technology strategy into measurable business value and ROI
• Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working within regulated industries, ideally healthcare
• Understanding of responsible AI, governance, security and compliance
