OVERVIEW:Enviroflight's mission is to develop technology that produces sustainable and safe animal feed ingredients using the Black Soldier Fly (BSF) (Hermetia illucens). Our technology enables the mass rearing of insect larvae, feedstock conditioning and mixing, insect life support systems, nutrients recovery, animal feed production, and cold press oil extraction and refining.SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician carries out various tasks to maintain and support all production and facility equipment, performs preventive maintenance on all equipment, and maintains facility in top condition. Maintenance technicians work closely with other operations teams and provide on-call support on a rotating schedule. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Routinely inspects and maintains building and installed systems including but not limited to packaging and handling machinery, plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop, and grounds Performs minor and routine repairs including but not limited to painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.Maintains heating and air conditioning units for the facilityAssists with the installation and modification of building equipment systemsCreates and maintains up-to-date service records for building equipment and machineryMay procure services, facility fixtures, supplies and equipment as directedCommunicates need for repairs and makes recommendations to improve facility and equipment Responds in a timely fashion to problems related to facility maintenance and repairInspects buildings, grounds, and equipment of unsafe or malfunctioning conditionsInspects new installation for compliance with building codes and safety regulationsMaintains a clean, safe working environment.Prepares required reports and correspondencePerforms other related or non-related duties as assigned by management MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalentFive years related experience or equivalentKnowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, cutting, welding and industrial maintenanceAbility to work at heights and in inclement weather or conditions inside and outComputer skills required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) Must have a valid U.S. driver's license and auto insurance as required by the State of Kentucky ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT: Must be able to work rotating 12-hour schedule including nights, weekends and holidaysOn-call shifts will be part of an ongoing schedule PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment or in a plant with a small team manufacturing workflow desirable Able to manage multiple priorities and work independently, in areas requiring both manual labor and administrative record keeping Competence in basic math skills with legible handwriting Ability to communicate effectively Respect for diversity and an ability to work with diverse teammates, customers, individuals and organizations Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality about the company and its proprietary processes and information; a Confidentiality Agreement is required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:Continually required to stand, walk, and utilize hand and finger dexterityFrequently required to lift and/or more up to 75 pounds, with supporting equipmentFrequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawlFrequently required to talk or hearWhile performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate Hard hats, safety shoes, rubber or latex gloves, and other protective equipment must be worn as required. Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used, ex. forklift, processing equipment. All employees must be willing and able to work indoors and outdoors around the insects used in production, to be exposed to hot and cold temperatures, potentially unpleasant odors, and mechanical equipment used for production.
