Transport Coordinator

Location: Ville St-Laurent, Montréal (On-site)

Industry: Meat / Food Distribution

Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday


About the Company

A well-established company in the meat and food distribution industry is looking for a Transport Coordinator to join its logistics team. The company operates in a fast-paced environment and manages transportation across Quebec, the GTA, the Maritimes, and Western Canada using both trucking and rail.

This is a hands-on, on-site role ideal for someone who thrives in operations and enjoys coordinating time-sensitive deliveries.


The Role

As a Transport Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring outbound and inbound shipments while ensuring on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance. You will work closely with carriers, internal teams, and customers to ensure smooth daily transportation operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage FTL and LTL shipments across Canada
  • Plan and schedule transportation via truck and rail
  • Communicate with carriers, drivers, warehouses, and internal teams
  • Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or issues
  • Ensure deliveries meet quality, safety, and timing requirements
  • Manage documentation, bills of lading, and transportation records
  • Handle multiple shipments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Provide timely updates to internal stakeholders and customers


Requirements

  • Bilingual (French & English) – spoken and written
  • DEC in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel, and warehouse management software.
  • 3–5 years of experience in transportation or logistics coordination
  • Strong experience with FTL and LTL shipments
  • Exposure to rail transportation is a strong asset
  • Experience coordinating deliveries across Quebec, Ontario (GTA), Maritimes, and Western Canada
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working on-site in Ville St-Laurent
