Role Description The Electrical Project Engineer is a full-time hybrid role based in Orlando, FL, with the flexibility to perform some work from home. This role is responsible for leading and executing electrical design for industrial projects, including power distribution, control systems, and integration with mechanical and structural disciplines. Day-to-day tasks include developing drawings and specifications, performing load calculations, reviewing vendor documentation, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. The Electrical Project Engineer will coordinate with project managers, multidisciplinary engineering teams, and clients to define requirements, track progress, and support projects from concept through commissioning. The role also involves troubleshooting technical issues in the field, supporting inspections, and contributing to continuous improvement of EDS design practices and tools.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Electrical Engineering and Electricity fundamentals, including understanding of circuits, equipment, and industrial applications.
  • Candidates should possess expertise in Electrical Design and Power Distribution, including creating single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and layout drawings.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of Power Systems, including load flow, short-circuit analysis, protective device coordination, and system reliability.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field; PE licensure or progress toward licensure is a plus.
  • Experience with industrial or infrastructure projects, preferably in sectors such as renewables, petrochemicals, data centers, or themed entertainment.
  • Proficiency with relevant design tools (e.g., CAD platforms, electrical modeling software) and familiarity with NEC and other applicable codes and standards.
  • Strong project coordination, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and occasionally support site visits or field work as required.
