Role Description The Legal Assistant/Paralegal will support attorneys with day-to-day legal and administrative tasks in a fast-paced, on-site environment in Westerville, OH. This full-time role involves preparing and organizing legal documents, managing case files, scheduling meetings and court dates, and maintaining accurate records. The Legal Assistant Paralegal will conduct legal and factual research, review documents for completeness and accuracy, and assist in drafting correspondence and basic pleadings under attorney supervision. The role also includes communicating with clients, courts, and other parties, coordinating signatures and filings, and ensuring deadlines are met. Collaboration with attorneys and other staff to support case strategy and efficient workflow is an essential part of this position.


Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Law and legal procedures, with the ability to support attorneys in case preparation and general legal practice.
  • Skills in Legal Document Preparation and Document Review, including drafting, formatting, and organizing pleadings, contracts, and related materials.
  • Strong Communication skills for interacting with clients, attorneys, courts, and external parties in a clear, professional manner.
  • Proficiency in Research, including legal research tools and fact-finding to support case development and document preparation.
  • Experience with case management software, document management systems, and standard office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • High level of attention to detail, organization, and time management, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work on-site full-time in Westerville, OH, collaborating effectively in a team-oriented law firm environment.
  • Preferred: Paralegal certificate or relevant coursework, or prior experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in a law firm or legal setting.
