Lead Teacher (Full-Time) Early Steps Learning Center (ESLC) Early Steps Learning Center, a Gold-rated childcare program serving children ages 6 weeks to 11 years, is hiring a full-time Lead Teacher. In this role, you will create a safe, engaging classroom environment, support childrens growth and development, and lead a team of assistant teachers. Program Overview High-quality early childhood program serving infants through school-age children Committed to excellence through Step Up to Quality standards Focus on whole-child development: social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth Use of structured curriculum and play-based learning approaches Key Responsibilities Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with Ohio Early Learning & Development Standards Lead and support assistant teachers, providing guidance and direction Build strong, professional relationships with children and families Observe, assess, and document childrens development and progress Maintain accurate classroom records and documentation Ensure full compliance with ODJFS licensing and Step Up to Quality standards Manage classroom routines, transitions, and positive behavior guidance Communicate effectively with staff, families, and leadership Maintain a clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom Qualifications Must meet Ohio ODJFS Lead Teacher requirements (CPL Level 2 or higher) Minimum of 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare setting Strong leadership, communication, and classroom management skills Passion for working with children and supporting their development Preferred (Not Required) CDA (Child Development Associate) credential Associate degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education or related field Experience with Creative Curriculum Familiarity with Step Up to Quality standards Certifications & Training CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Completion of all required state and center training Must pass background check and licensing requirements Physical Requirements Ability to actively engage with children throughout the day Lift, carry, and assist children as needed Sit, stand, bend, and move frequently Maintain energy and attentiveness in a fast-paced environment Schedule & Compensation Full-time position Pay: $17.00 $19.00 per hour (based on experience and credentials) Benefits include: Health insurance 401(k) with employer matching Paid time off Employee discounts Why Join ESLC?
