We are seeking a skilled A level to high B level Service Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems and be capable of diagnosing and repairing various types of makes and models of vehicles. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring that all vehicles operate efficiently and safely and adhering to the company standards. This is an hourly position, no book rate, guaranteed 40 hours per week. Pay is based on experience.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using tools such as an odometer and other diagnostic instruments.
- Conduct inspections to identify potential problems before they escalate.
- Replace defective parts and components as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections performed.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure optimal performance of all vehicles.
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Communicate clearly with both the team and customers of known mechanical issue and steps needed to rectify them.
- Assist in delivering and picking up vehicles from our sales lot.
- Having the ability to pivot and/or jump to higher priority tasks as needed.
Experience
- 5+ years of proven experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with using diagnostic tools is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
