Senior Manager, Supply Chain — Material Program Management

The opportunity

EXO Talent Partners is retained on a confidential search for a Senior Manager, Supply Chain to lead the Material Program Management function at an established, growing aerospace and defense manufacturer in the Melbourne, FL area.


This is a build-and-lead seat. You own program material cost, schedule, delivery, and supplier performance across a portfolio of development, production, and sustainment programs, and you lead and develop the team of Material Program Managers who execute it.

The client is not named at this stage. Qualified candidates will learn the company on a confidential call.


What you'll own

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Material Program Managers across multiple programs and lifecycle phases.
  • Serve as the primary interface between the PMO and Integrated Product Teams and Supply Chain, accountable for material cost, schedule, delivery, and supplier performance.
  • Own program material budgets, baseline integrity, and performance reporting: material EAC, forecasting, and variance analysis, with EVM-compatible planning where the contract requires.
  • Set the execution standard for forecasting, EAC discipline, performance metrics, and risk and opportunity management.
  • Drive program supply chain strategy: make-buy, sourcing, subcontracting, capacity, lead-time, and continuity of supply, aligned to the Integrated Master Schedule.
  • Direct supplier performance management, recovery plans, and escalation paths for cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Support proposals and captures with supply chain inputs, material pricing strategy, and Basis of Estimate development.
  • Ensure FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and customer compliance in partnership with Contracts and Legal.


What you bring

  • 10+ years in supply chain, material program management, subcontract management, program management, or operations in aerospace and defense.
  • 3+ years of people leadership, direct team leadership strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ownership of program material cost and schedule: forecasting, EAC, variance drivers, and recovery execution.
  • Cross-functional leadership in a matrixed environment with executive-level communication.
  • Bachelor's in supply chain, business, engineering, operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.


Nice to have

  • Master's degree (MBA or technical), EVM/EVMS experience and/or Cost Account Manager exposure, proposal and BOE and should-cost work, SAP or Oracle MRP/ERP, and supply chain metrics dashboards.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required. This role requires an active DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable time after starting.
  • On-site in the Melbourne, FL area on a 9/80 schedule.
