Position Summary
Equilibrium Ranch is seeking compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused Certified Medication Technicians (CMT), Level I Medication Aides (L1MA), and Certified Medication Aides (CMA) to join our care team. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the Medication Aide is responsible for safely administering medications, monitoring residents for adverse reactions, documenting care, and assisting residents with activities of daily living while promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life. Medication aides must demonstrate competency in medication administration, documentation, infection prevention, and resident safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Medication Administration
- Administer prescribed medications according to physician orders and facility policies.
- Follow the Five Rights of Medication Administration (right resident, medication, dose, route, and time).
- Document all medication administration accurately in the Medication Administration Record (MAR).
- Administer PRN medications as directed and monitor effectiveness.
- Observe residents for medication side effects, adverse reactions, and effectiveness of treatment.
- Report medication concerns, errors, or resident reactions immediately to the licensed nurse.
Resident Care
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including:
- Bathing
- Dressing
- Grooming
- Toileting
- Mobility assistance
- Dining assistance
- Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests.
- Conduct routine rounds and monitor resident well-being.
- Support resident independence while maintaining safety and dignity.
Documentation and Communication
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
- Record changes in resident condition, behavior, or functioning.
- Communicate effectively with nurses, providers, therapists, residents, and family members.
- Participate in shift reports and interdisciplinary care planning meetings.
- Assist with medication inventory, ordering, storage, and security procedures.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow all state, federal, and facility regulations regarding medication administration.
- Maintain confidentiality and resident rights at all times.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control practices.
- Maintain medication carts, treatment areas, and workspaces in a clean and organized manner.
- Participate in emergency preparedness and resident safety programs.
Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members.
- Assist with resident appointments and activities as assigned.
- Support Equilibrium Ranch's mission of excellence in resident-centered care.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by nursing leadership.
Qualifications
Required
- Current Missouri CMT, L1MA, or CMA certification in good standing.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to safely administer medications and maintain accurate records.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to pass background screening and pre-employment requirements.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents as needed.
Preferred
- Long-term care, assisted living, memory care, or behavioral health experience.
- CPR/BLS Certification.
- Insulin Certification.
- Experience working with older adults, veterans, dementia, or psychiatric populations.
