About Don’t Matter

Don’t Matter is a new listening lounge in DUMBO, Brooklyn, built around music, cocktails, food, and thoughtful hospitality. The space includes an indoor lounge and outdoor deck, creating a warm, energetic, and elevated guest experience.

We are looking for a polished, organized, and welcoming Lead Host to join our opening team and help manage the flow and energy of the room.

Position Overview

The Lead Host is the first point of contact for our guests and plays a key role in setting the tone of the experience.

This position requires strong hospitality instincts, professionalism, organization, and the ability to confidently manage reservations, walk-ins, waitlists, table pacing, and guest flow throughout service.

Strong Resy experience is required. Candidates should be comfortable actively managing the reservation book, adjusting tables and pacing in real time, handling guest notes and preferences, and coordinating closely with the floor team.

Shifts Needed

• Wednesday: 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM

• Thursday: 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM

• Friday: 4:00 PM – 1:30 AM

• Saturday: 4:00 PM – 1:30 AM

• Sunday: 4:00 PM – 11:30 PM

Strong weekend availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and professionally

• Own and actively manage the Resy reservation book

• Manage reservations, walk-ins, waitlists, and guest notes

• Monitor table pacing, turn times, and availability throughout service

• Seat guests strategically across the indoor lounge and outdoor deck

• Make real-time adjustments to maximize guest experience and smooth service

• Communicate clearly with servers, bartenders, kitchen, and management

• Handle VIPs, special requests, and guest concerns with discretion and professionalism

• Maintain strong awareness of the room and overall guest flow

• Keep the host stand and entrance clean, organized, and presentation-ready

• Support opening, closing, and other guest-facing responsibilities

• Help maintain service standards and support/train additional hosts as needed

Qualifications

• Strong Resy experience required

• Prior Lead Host, Host, Maitre D’, restaurant, lounge, or nightlife experience strongly preferred

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Strong understanding of reservations, pacing, and table management

• Professional, composed, and welcoming presence

• Comfortable handling high-volume service and demanding guest situations

• Ability to think quickly and make decisions during service

• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

• Evening, weekend, and late-night availability required
