Position overview:
Directions for Youth and Families is looking for a reliable and creative cook to prepare daily meals and snacks for youth in our after-school program. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys cooking but wants a consistent schedule - no late nights, no weekends, and a supportive team environment.
What You'll Do:
  • Prepare daily means and snack for youth participants
  • Plan menus and complete weekly grocery shopping
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines (ServSafe)
  • Manage food inventory and proper storage
  • Ensure meals are prepared and served on time
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior food service or cooking experience
  • ServSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance

DFYFโ€™s programs are divided into 3 categories: Treatment, Prevention, and Education. DFYF offers specialized mental health, kindergarten readiness, afterschool and summer programming to meet the diverse needs of our youth and family population. DFYF proudly serves over 5,000 youth, adults, and families each year. All of our programs strive to fulfill our mission to build and inspire hope, healing, and resilience for youth, families, and communities through counseling and education.
