Job description

Citi is looking for a Senior Vice President, Product Manager to join its Global Clearing organization and lead the strategic direction of next-generation payments, clearing, settlement, and digital money solutions. In this role, you will define how money moves across the global financial system - shaping institutional payment infrastructure, driving digital asset innovation, and helping Citi maintain its leadership position in global clearing. This is a rare opportunity to influence the future of cross-border payments and settlement at the scale of one of the world's most connected financial institutions.
Responsibilities:
  • Define and execute the strategic product roadmap for next-generation payments, encompassing always-on 24/7 payment capabilities, Citi Token Services, and real-time liquidity and settlement solutions.
  • Lead Citi's product strategy and engagement across industry-transforming payments and settlement initiatives, with a focus on emerging digital money frameworks, tokenized assets, and the evolution of financial market infrastructure.
  • Develop long-term business and product strategies that protect and grow Citi's Global Clearing franchise while identifying opportunities for revenue generation, client acquisition, and market expansion.
  • Drive innovation across tokenized deposits, programmable money, digital settlement assets, and interoperability models, bridging traditional financial infrastructure with emerging digital ecosystems.
  • Collaborate with clients, financial institutions, central banks, market infrastructures, fintechs, and industry consortia to shape the future of cross-border payments and digital value exchange.
  • Partner across Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Treasury, and Sales to translate strategic priorities into scalable, commercially viable client solutions.
  • Represent Citi in industry forums and strategic working groups where the standards and infrastructure of future payments, clearing, and settlement are being defined.
  • Analyze competitive market landscapes, client needs, and emerging trends to identify threats, opportunities, and innovation priorities across the payments ecosystem.

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, payments, financial market infrastructure, or a closely related field.
  • Deep knowledge of the payments ecosystem, including clearing and settlement mechanics, institutional payment flows, and financial market infrastructures.
  • Ability to translate complex strategic priorities into clear product roadmaps and commercially viable client solutions.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capability, with a track record of identifying market opportunities and acting on them effectively.
  • Clear and concise communicator, able to engage senior stakeholders, clients, and external partners with confidence and credibility.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities independently in a fast-moving environment, adjusting focus as circumstances evolve.
  • Familiarity with digital assets, tokenized money, programmable payment infrastructure, or decentralized finance concepts as applied to institutional finance.
  • Experience engaging with central banks, regulatory bodies, or industry consortia on payments or financial market infrastructure topics.
  • Knowledge of marketing strategy, client acquisition, pricing, or product commercialization in a financial services context.
  • Master's degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent university-level qualification.

What We Offer:
Joining Citi's Global Clearing team means stepping into one of the most strategically significant product roles in institutional finance - with the platform, reach, and resources to influence how money moves globally. Senior leaders here operate with real ownership, meaningful autonomy, and access to a network spanning central banks, fintechs, financial institutions, and global regulators.
  • Strategic ownership over a high-profile product portfolio that sits at the intersection of institutional payments, digital assets, and global financial market infrastructure.
  • Direct influence on Citi's competitive position in global clearing, with the scope to shape industry direction through external forums, consortia, and strategic partnerships.
  • Hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely.
  • Cross-functional exposure across Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Treasury, and Sales at a global scale.
