Job description

We are seeking a Full Time Fire Alarm Technician/Installer to join our team! You will perform maintenance, repairs, installations, programming, and inspections of fire systems. We offer hands-on learning and actively train/develop our teams to learn innovative skills and techniques. Occasional travel is required but most work is in Southeast Michigan area.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, program, and perform scheduled routine preventive maintenance inspections of fire systems
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with relevant fire and electrical codes
  • Complete electronic work orders/paperwork via mobile device
  • Meet deadlines and finish work timely with a high level of craftmanship/precision

Experience:

  • 2 - 3 years in the fire alarm/security alarm industry is preferred but experience in low voltage construction, data cabling, and general construction work a plus
  • NICET Certification - preferred but not required
  • State of Michigan Licensing - preferred but not required
  • City of Detroit Licensing - preferred but not required
  • Willing to train a team player that is detail-oriented, self-starting, organized, and can follow instructions

Skills:

  • Electrical/Electronic skills
  • Understanding of technical documents, drawings/floor plans, installation instructions, BOM, and electrical/fire codes
  • Organizational skills to manage time, materials, vehicle, and schedule timeline of projects
  • Computer Skills - Microsoft Office, e-mail, and general computer use
  • Meet physical requirements of the position including, but not limited to: Standing for extended periods of time, lifting boxes over 30 lbs., climbing ladders, crouching in small spaces
  • Work on ariel lifts at heights exceeding 20’ from the finished floor may be required

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required for State of Michigan licensing)
  • Valid driver’s license with good record is required - no DUIs or DWIs
  • No felony criminal history
  • Must have own hand tools
  • Safety boots/Hard sole/steel toe as required
  • Must have dependable transportation until if/when assigned a company vehicle
