Front House – Part-Time

Desi District is hiring a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Front House team member to join our restaurant team.

This is a part-time, hourly position focused on customer service, order taking, food running, dine-in service, takeout packing, and ensuring that every customer receives the correct order.

We are looking for someone who can work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment, communicate well with customers and kitchen staff, and pay close attention to order accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Take dine-in, takeout, and pickup orders accurately.
• Enter customer orders correctly into the restaurant POS system.
• Assist customers with menu questions and order selections.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff regarding customer orders and special requests.
• Pack takeout and online orders carefully and accurately.
• Verify every completed order before handing it to the customer.
• Make sure food items, sides, sauces, beverages, and special requests are included.
• Keep multiple customer orders properly organized to prevent orders from being mixed up or misplaced.
• Hand completed orders to the correct customer or delivery driver.
• Handle and organize orders from delivery platforms such as DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, and other third-party delivery services.
• Assist with plating and organizing dine-in orders.
• Run completed food orders from the kitchen to customers as required.
• Prepare juices, beverages, and other basic front-of-house items as needed.
• Keep the front counter, pickup area, beverage area, and order-packing stations clean and organized.
• Restock cups, napkins, utensils, sauces, takeout containers, bags, and other front-of-house supplies.
• Communicate any order issues or delays promptly to the appropriate team member.
• Assist other team members with general front-of-house restaurant duties during the shift.
• Follow restaurant cleanliness, food-handling, and customer-service procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, food-service, cashier, or customer-service experience is preferred but not required.
• Training will be provided.
• Friendly and professional when communicating with customers.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly when checking and packing orders.
• Able to stay organized while handling multiple customer orders.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Able to communicate and work effectively with kitchen and front-of-house team members.
• Willing to learn the Desi District menu, restaurant procedures, and POS system.
• Indian food knowledge is not required; training will be provided.
• Must have or be willing to obtain a valid Texas Food Handler Certificate.

Schedule

Part-Time

Work days and shift hours will vary depending on restaurant staffing needs, business requirements, and employee availability.

Specific schedules and shift availability will be discussed during the interview process.

Compensation

Hourly Pay – Based on Experience

Hourly compensation will be determined based on the candidate's relevant restaurant, customer-service, and food-service experience.

Work Location

This is an on-site restaurant position at Desi District.
