The team emphasizes friendly, personal service while using advanced diagnostic and treatment technology. The practice is committed to improving quality of life through comprehensive eye care for individuals and families. Depoe Eye Center values long-term relationships with patients and actively contributes to the well-being of the local community in Georgia.

Role Description This full-time, on-site Optometrist role is based at Depoe Eye Center in Fayetteville, GA. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular diseases and conditions, and prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision correction solutions. Daily responsibilities include reviewing patient histories, conducting specialized testing, interpreting results, and collaborating with support staff to ensure efficient patient flow and accurate documentation. The role also involves educating patients on eye health, treatment options, and preventive care, while maintaining high standards of clinical quality and patient-centered service. The Optometrist will contribute to practice growth by fostering strong patient relationships and supporting the practice’s mission of delivering exceptional eye care.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution and current, unrestricted license to practice optometry in the state of Georgia (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Proficiency in performing comprehensive eye exams, diagnosing refractive errors, and managing common ocular conditions such as dry eye, glaucoma, and retinal disease.
  • Experience with modern diagnostic equipment and electronic health records, with strong attention to accuracy and detail in charting and documentation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain clinical findings clearly and provide empathetic, patient-centered care to individuals of all ages.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical team, manage time effectively in a busy practice setting, and adapt to evolving technologies and clinical protocols.
  • Commitment to continuing education, adherence to ethical and regulatory standards, and an interest in long-term practice growth within the local community.
  • Prior experience in private practice or medical optometry is preferred but not required; residency training or additional certifications in specialty areas (e.g., contact lenses, low vision, pediatrics) are a plus.
