DELAMAR Hotel Collection, a premier luxury hospitality company, has acquired the iconic and historic Exeter Inn in Exeter, New Hampshire, and is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the transformation of this landmark property.

This is a rare opportunity for a passionate, hands-on hospitality leader to oversee an exciting new luxury hotel and restaurant while helping shape the future of one of New England's most recognized destinations.

The General Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, operational excellence, financial performance, and guest experience of both the hotel and its food & beverage operations. The ideal candidate is an inspiring leader who thrives in a luxury environment, builds exceptional teams, and delivers memorable guest experiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide strategic leadership for all hotel and restaurant operations.
  • Foster a culture of exceptional service, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop department leaders and team members.
  • Conduct regular leadership meetings, coaching sessions, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, employment laws, and operational standards.
  • Oversee all hotel departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, and Guest Services.
  • Maintain the highest standards of luxury hospitality throughout the property.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and promptly resolve service concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee all food and beverage operations, including the restaurant, bar, banquets, catering, and in-room dining.
  • Partner closely with the Executive Chef and Restaurant management to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
  • Monitor food quality, service standards, labor productivity, cleanliness, and profitability.
  • Develop strategies to grow restaurant revenue while enhancing guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Develop and manage annual operating budgets.
  • Monitor labor costs, food costs, departmental expenses, and overall financial performance.
  • Analyze financial statements and key performance indicators to drive operational improvements.
  • Maximize revenue while maintaining disciplined expense controls and profitability.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to increase hotel occupancy, restaurant business, and event revenue.
  • Build strong relationships with corporate clients, community organizations, tourism partners, and local businesses.
  • Support special events, promotions, and seasonal programming that strengthen the property's market presence.
  • Create a positive, engaging workplace culture focused on employee retention and professional growth.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels across all departments.
  • Coach and develop department managers to achieve operational excellence.
  • Maintain the property to the highest luxury hospitality standards.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs and capital improvement projects.
  • Protect company assets while ensuring a safe environment for guests and employees.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in hotel and restaurant operations.
  • Minimum of 3 years as a General Manager
  • Demonstrated success leading luxury hotel and food & beverage operations.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and expense management.
  • Proven ability to recruit, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with luxury, boutique, or independent hotels is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with OPERA PMS is preferred.
