Job description
Role Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test commercial electrical systems including conduit, wire, panels, and devices
- Read and work from blueprints, electrical drawings, and specifications
- Perform rough-in and finish electrical work on commercial construction projects
- Coordinate with foreman, GC, and other trades on daily scope and production targets
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with OSHA and site safety plans
- Apprentices will work under the direction of a Journeyman Electrician and perform tasks consistent with their experience level
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must hold a valid electrician license as required by the Michigan City / LaPorte County licensing authority for the work performed, or be eligible to obtain the required local license within the timeframe required by the licensing authority
- Apprentices must be enrolled in a registered electrical apprenticeship program, provide proof of enrollment, and work under the supervision of a licensed Journeyman Electrician
- Minimum 4 years of commercial electrical experience for Journeyman; minimum 5 years for Lead Journeyman/Foreman roles
- OSHA 10 certification required (minimum); OSHA 30 preferred
- Ability to provide license or apprenticeship documentation for verification
- Commercial or industrial electrical experience required
- Must be available for scheduled overtime (58+ hrs/week expected)
- Reliable transportation and basic electrical tools
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs, working at heights, and climbing ladders, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Employment is contingent on successful completion of a background check and drug screen, conducted in accordance with applicable law, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act
- Safety-minded, dependable, and ready to work in a fast-paced environment
