About DFTBA
DFTBA is an e-commerce company built to help make the world a better place - or in the words of our founders, Hank & John Green, to decrease world suck. We partner with online creators to design, produce, and deliver high-quality products that connect with their communities.
We're also home to Good Store, a mission-driven venture that donates 100% of profits to charity. As we've grown, so has our impact-DFTBA has proudly donated over $13 million to high-impact charities addressing medical injustice, climate change, and other urgent challenges. Our growth is fueled not by personal gain, but by a shared drive to do more good.
At DFTBA, we value creativity, problem-solving, and - above all - people. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and welcome the unique perspectives, experiences, and values you bring.
About the role
We're looking for a detail-oriented and adaptable Part-Time Product Photographer to help bring our products to life through high-quality, compelling photography.
At DFTBA and Good Store, we create products that are designed to delight and built to do good - with 100% of Good Store profits donated to high-impact charities. As our product lines continue to grow across DFTBA, Good Store, and our creator partners, strong visual storytelling is essential to how customers experience our products.
As Part-Time Product Photographer, you'll work closely with the Good Store Art Director to capture and produce consistent, high-quality product imagery for e-commerce, marketing, and brand use. You'll execute everything from clean, white-background product shots to more styled and creative setups, helping ensure our products are represented accurately and beautifully across all channels.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on studio work, has a strong technical photography foundation, and can manage a flexible, production-based workload with attention to detail and consistency. Guaranteed 12 hours per week, with flexibility to increase hours during busy production periods and scheduled photoshoots.
What you'll do
  • Photograph products for e-commerce use, including clean and consistent images on white or simple backdrops.
  • Edit and retouch images for web use, ensuring color accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand standards.
  • Organize and maintain digital photo assets, including proper file naming, storage, and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with the Good Store Art Director to maintain and evolve product photography standards.
  • Manage basic studio setup, including lighting, backdrops, and equipment upkeep within the DFTBA warehouse.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure products are photographed accurately and on schedule.
  • Adapt to shifting priorities and increased workload during seasonal product launches.
  • Occasionally execute lifestyle-oriented product shoots, including scene styling and composition.
  • Support additional photography needs as assigned by the Good Store Art Director and Creator Partnerships General Manager.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of product photography experience, preferably in e-commerce or commercial settings.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating product photography, including both clean and styled setups.
  • Proficiency in photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop).
  • Solid understanding of lighting techniques for small objects and product photography.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in color accuracy and consistency.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently within a flexible schedule.
  • Basic knowledge of file management and digital asset organization best practices.
