Licensed Tax Preparer

D&S Bookkeeping & Tax Service, a trusted and established firm in Roseburg, Oregon, is seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Licensed Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate must hold a valid Oregon Tax Preparer License, demonstrate strong tax preparation experience, and be committed to providing accurate, high-quality service to individual and business clients.

WE ARE WILLING TO HELP TRAIN YOU AND ACQUIRE YOUR OREGON TAX PREPARER LICENSE.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct client interviews to collect and verify necessary tax documents and financial information.
• Review financial records, bookkeeping reports, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify all relevant tax information through due diligence questioning and client communication.
• Prepare and file accurate federal and state tax returns for individuals and small businesses.
• Ensure compliance with current IRS regulations and Oregon state tax laws.
• Maintain organized client records and uphold strict confidentiality standards.
• Communicate with clients regarding tax preparation status, questions, and follow-up items.
• Stay current on tax law updates, regulations, and filing requirements.

Qualifications:

• Valid Oregon Tax Preparer License (required). Willing to train and help you acquire your Oregon tax preparer license.
• Experience in tax preparation, accounting, bookkeeping, or related financial services.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines during tax season and year-round workloads.
• Proficiency with tax software and general office/computer systems.
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is a plus.
