Job description

Interface and Technology Infrastructure Manager (ITIM) - Data Center Construction

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Interface and Technology Infrastructure Manager (ITIM) to support the construction and delivery of technology infrastructure within large-scale data center and mission-critical construction projects.

This is a construction-focused role, working alongside Construction Managers, General Contractors, trade partners, and client stakeholders to coordinate the installation, sequencing, testing, commissioning, and turnover of technology and low-voltage infrastructure.

The ITIM serves as a key interface between the construction team and technology infrastructure workstreams, helping ensure systems are installed in accordance with project requirements, coordinated with the overall construction schedule, and ready for successful turnover.

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering data center or mission-critical construction projects, with strong knowledge of low-voltage construction, structured cabling, fiber infrastructure, contractor coordination, field execution, and project turnover.

Key Responsibilities

Construction & Infrastructure Coordination

  • Support field execution of technology infrastructure scopes across large-scale data center construction projects.
  • Coordinate installation and construction activities related to:
  • Structured cabling
  • Fiber infrastructure
  • Low-voltage systems
  • Telecommunications and technology infrastructure
  • Rack deployment environments
  • Coordinate low-voltage contractors and trade partners with Construction Managers, General Contractors, and other construction disciplines.
  • Identify and help resolve field conflicts involving sequencing, access, installation requirements, schedule dependencies, and trade coordination.
  • Participate in construction coordination meetings, site walks, readiness reviews, and project planning activities.
  • Track materials, equipment deliveries, contractor progress, and construction dependencies against the project schedule.
  • Monitor installation progress and identify risks that could impact construction milestones or turnover.
  • Support verification of completed installations, testing results, labeling, as-built documentation, and turnover packages.

Construction Readiness, Turnover & Closeout

  • Support testing, commissioning, punch-list resolution, and turnover of technology infrastructure systems.
  • Coordinate construction readiness requirements with contractors, CMs, GCs, and client stakeholders.
  • Track outstanding construction items and dependencies through completion.
  • Review as-built documentation and contractor turnover packages for completeness.
  • Support transition from construction completion through client acceptance and operational readiness.
  • Maintain visibility of risks, schedule impacts, outstanding work, and critical dependencies.
  • Escalate field and project risks to the appropriate project leadership and client stakeholders.

Key Deliverables

  • Construction and infrastructure readiness status reports
  • Technology infrastructure installation and progress tracking
  • Materials and equipment delivery tracking
  • Low-voltage and structured cabling installation tracking
  • As-built and turnover documentation validation
  • Punch-list and closeout tracking
  • Risk, dependency, and milestone reporting

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years of construction/project delivery experience, preferably within data centers, mission-critical facilities, telecommunications infrastructure, or other complex construction environments.
  • Experience coordinating low-voltage, structured cabling, fiber, telecommunications, or technology infrastructure construction scopes.
  • Demonstrated experience working with General Contractors, Construction Managers, subcontractors, trade partners, and client teams.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, field coordination, schedule dependencies, installation tracking, and project turnover.
  • Working knowledge of:
  • Structured cabling
  • Fiber infrastructure
  • Low-voltage systems
  • Telecommunications/ICT infrastructure
  • Rack deployment environments
  • Experience supporting testing, commissioning, punch-list completion, construction closeout, and turnover.
  • Ability to identify field risks, coordinate multiple contractors and stakeholders, and drive issues through resolution.
  • Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data center construction projects.
  • Experience with mission-critical construction and technology/ICT infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of commissioning, construction turnover, and operational readiness processes.
  • Experience managing or coordinating low-voltage contractors and technology trade partners.
  • Familiarity with construction scheduling, progress tracking, and project controls.
  • PMP, CCM, CAPM, or related construction/project management certification is a plus.
