As a Youth Support Worker, you will play an important role in supporting children who have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect, or challenging life circumstances. Through compassion, patience, and teamwork, you will help create a positive environment where children can develop confidence, independence, and life skills.

What You'll Do

The Youth Support Worker provides direct care, supervision, and support to children ages 5–12 in a therapeutic residential setting.

Your responsibilities may include:

Child Care & Support
  • Provide direct care and support to up to five residents.

  • Supervise children and maintain a safe, structured environment.

  • Assist with meal preparation and daily activities.

  • Provide transportation to appointments and activities.

  • Build positive relationships with children through patience and understanding.

Treatment & Team Collaboration
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans.

  • Collaborate with team members to provide consistent therapeutic care.

  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.

  • Support child development, behavior management, and therapeutic strategies.

Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and complete resident records.

  • Complete progress notes and incident reports.

  • Communicate important updates with the treatment team.

  • Follow program policies and safety procedures.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

One of the following is required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Psychology with one year of direct care experience working with youth in a behavioral health agency or institutional setting; or

  • High school diploma with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the past six months.

  • Reliable transportation.

  • Ability to successfully complete:

    • Physical screening

    • Drug screening

    • Criminal Record History Clearance

    • FBI Clearance

    • Child Abuse History Clearance

Safety Crisis Management (SCM) Certification

  • Required within one week of hire.

  • Three-day training program.

  • Requires active participation in physically demanding activities.

Part-Time Weekend Shifts

Available schedules:

  • Friday – Saturday | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

  • Friday – Saturday | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

  • Friday – Saturday | 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
