Cross Country Education is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers to join a supportive school district in Glenwood, Illinois for the 2026-2027 school year. We have multiple elementary openings available, including K-4 Resource and K-2 Self-Contained classrooms. Position Details
- Location: Glenwood, IL
- School Year: August 18, 2026 – June 4, 2027
- Schedule: Monday-Friday
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Compensation: $48-$53+/hour on a W-2, paid weekly
Openings:
- K-4 Resource Teacher
- K-2 Self-Contained Teacher
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs in either a resource or self-contained classroom
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Differentiate instruction to meet students' academic, behavioral, and functional goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance with state and federal special education requirements
- Foster an inclusive, structured, and positive learning environment
- Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 endorsement or appropriate Special Education credential
- Previous elementary special education experience preferred
- Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of students
