Job Summary

The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) at Catholic Charities of Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton Counties (CCIEC) will provide primary care services to individuals and families, focusing on prevention, health promotion, and disease management. As part of our mission to improve healthcare access, the FNP will offer services to underserved populations, ensuring they receive high-quality care in a compassionate and culturally sensitive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the physical status of patients of all ages (newborns, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients), through histories, examination and diagnostic tests
  • Order and interpret appropriate laboratory studies, x-rays, ECGs and other special examinations
  • Develop and implement therapeutic plans for health maintenance, prevention and management of illness. Well child examinations must follow American Academy of Pediatric Bright Futures guidelines
  • Maintain competency in child- and adulthood immunization schedules
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with established guidelines
  • Provide health education and counseling to patients and/or their guardians
  • Perform minor office surgical or therapeutic procedures
  • Provide comprehensive care planning for clients with chronic diseases
  • Serve as a consultant to nursing staff and other health care professionals
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Comply with clinical expectations as per our Family Health Center Provider Job Expectations
  • Responsible to Medical Director
  • Perform other duties as assigned including occasional telephone on-call duties (telephone call only)
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education: Master of Science in Nursing
Experience: Minimum one-year experience in ambulatory care setting
Required Licenses, Certifications, and Training: Registered nurse, currently licensed to practice in Michigan. Certified as Family Nurse Practitioner. Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred.
