Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to identify clients’ mental health conditions and establish effective, customized treatment plans.
• Provide individual therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based interventions tailored to each client's unique needs, fostering progression and emotional wellness.
• Collaborate with clients to set realistic therapeutic goals and actively monitor their progression throughout the therapeutic process.
• Offer teletherapy options for clients who may face challenges accessing traditional in-person sessions, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to receive therapeutic support.
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation to comply with ethical standards and organizational policies, ensuring confidentiality and integrity in record-keeping.
• Engage in ongoing professional development activities to enhance clinical skills, remaining informed on best practices and emerging trends in mental health care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications

• A valid, current license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of New York.
• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build secure therapeutic relationships with clients effectively.
• Empathetic and non-judgmental attitude towards clients and their circumstances, creating an open and trusting environment.
• Well-developed organizational and time management skills to engage effectively with a diverse caseload and perform necessary administrative duties.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a clinical setting providing therapy within a community health framework.
• Familiarity with teletherapy platforms and remote counseling best practices.
• Background in addiction treatment or trauma-informed care is a plus.
