Major Responsibilities

• To evaluate, diagnose and remediate speech and language disorders in children and adults.
• To provide appropriate referral and follow-up for clients.

Predominant Tasks

1. Provide diagnostic evaluations to diagnose speech and language disorders in children and adults.
2. Interpret results of evaluation and use data-based decision making to propose treatment plans for client, legal guardian and/or referral source.
3. Provide a written report of diagnostic evaluations to referral sources, Clarity and to the patient's legal guardian (in accordance to HIPAA Privacy and Security Plans).
4. Implement treatments plans utilizing individual and/or group therapy to remediate speech and language disorders in children and adults.
5. Maintain documentation clients on caseload, ensuring that documentation (that is, reports, progress notes, etc.) is entered into EMR system in a timely manner per departmental policy.
6. Participate in developing and establishing new programs and services offered through Clarity.
7. Supervise and educate volunteers and students as requested by Director of Speech and Language Services.
8. Work with outside agencies, community programs, and educational programs as needed to assist in best client care (in accordance with HIPAA Privacy and Security Plans).
9. Provide coaching to parents/caregivers, when needed, to assist them in advocating their child's needs in school settings and beyond.
10. Actively seek out supervision when needed.
11. Remain current within the field of speech and language pathology and seek opportunities for continuing education.
12. Maintain an active license and good standing with the SC Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
13. Comply with Clarity's HIPAA privacy and security policies
14. Collaborate with all other team members to facilitate realization of Clarity mission, including attending routine departmental and general staff meetings.
15. Assist with marketing and promotion of speech and language program and agency.
16. Adhere to agency and departmental policy and procedures.
