What You’ll Do

As a cashier at Chavira's Market, you’ll play a key role in creating a positive shopping experience for our customers. Your responsibilities will include:

• Greeting customers with a warm, professional attitude.
• Accurately scanning and processing purchases.
• Handling cash, credit/debit cards, and other payment methods with care.
• Issuing receipts, refunds, and exchanges according to company policies.
• Balancing the cash register at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Keeping the checkout area clean, organized, and well-stocked.
• Assisting customers with bagging purchases and answering their questions.
• Promoting store loyalty programs or special offers.
• Following company policies on cash handling and loss prevention.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking individuals who bring enthusiasm, reliability, and excellent customer service skills to the table. Here’s what will help you succeed in this role:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Experience: Previous cashier or customer service experience is a plus, but not required.
• Skills:
• Basic math and computer proficiency.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Attention to detail and time management.
• Teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Personal Traits: Honest, reliable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What to Expect

This role requires standing for extended periods and may involve working weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts. You’ll also need to lift light to moderate items as needed.
