Job description

Catholic Hospice is seeking Certified Music Therapists to volunteer their professional skills in bringing comfort, peace, and emotional support to hospice patients throughout Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.

⚠️ Please Note: This opportunity is strictly for certified music therapists. Certification is required.

Music therapy has a powerful impact in hospice care. Live, therapeutic music can ease anxiety, reduce pain perception, encourage meaningful connection, support spiritual reflection, and create moments of deep peace for patients and families during life’s most delicate time.

Volunteer visits are available 7 days a week between 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM, in private homes, assisted living communities, nursing homes, and medical centers.

As a Certified Music Therapist Volunteer, you will:

  • Provide therapeutic music interventions tailored to hospice patients
  • Use your professional training to address emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial needs
  • Receive hospice-specific orientation and ongoing support
  • Have flexible scheduling options
  • Make a lasting and meaningful difference in patients’ final chapter of life

Requirements (Certified Music Therapists Only)

To be considered, you must:

  • Provide proof of current certification
  • Complete a background screening and drug screening (covered by Catholic Hospice)
  • Provide a valid driver’s license or identification
  • Provide proof of car insurance (if applicable)

⚠️ Only certified music therapists will be eligible for placement.

If you are a credentialed music therapist with a heart for hospice care and a desire to serve through your professional gifts, we would be honored to have you join our Volunteer Services team.
