JOB SUMMARY:
The Security Specialist (part-time) will serve as a safety presence for Castle & Key Distillery. This position will be responsible for maintaining a security post and keeping an accurate log of all disturbances and unusual occurrences. This person will often be one of the first points of contact with the public on-site. In that regard, they will be charged with understanding their presence at the business and providing directions accordingly.
The ideal candidate will have a high degree of professionalism, emotional control, and integrity. This person must place a priority on safety management and stay focused in the course of their day. Ideally, they will have the dynamic interpersonal skills required to be diligent in their duties and still provide hospitable service to staff and guests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Monitors and patrols all buildings and perimeters of Castle and Key property
Monitors security camera systems and operates detecting/emergency equipment
Ability to inspect security and fire systems
Responds to emergencies and performs first aid measures as necessary
Monitors access control of building entrances and vehicle gates
Reports daily occurrences of accidents and incidents
Protects company’s assets relative to theft, assault, fire, and other safety issues.
Adheres to all company operating standards and performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma
Must be at least 21 years old
5+ years of security-related experience
Must be available to work weekends, holidays and evenings
Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols
Pass a State licensing test if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle
Be eligible to own and possess a firearm under federal law in the State of Kentucky
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and viewing a computer monitor may be required
May be required to push, pull, and lift objects > 50 pounds
Exposure to loud noises, alcohol vapors, extreme weather and temperature conditions (heat, cold, wet), dust, debris, sharp objects, potentially hazardous chemical, gases and equipment, and steam
Exposure to machinery with moving parts
May be required to operate forklifts, lifts, and other machinery.
May be required to climb a ladder or crawl into a confined space
Available to work weekends, holidays and evenings for events, weddings, etc.
Travel to and from off-site warehouses
May be required to clean areas of warehouses throughout shift. This includes running a floor broom, taking out the trash, and general cleaning duties.
