Castaneda & Co. is a boutique real estate litigation firm based in Silicon Valley, focused on high-stakes residential purchase disputes (non-disclosure, fraud, broker negligence) and commercial lease matters across California.
We are seeking a Senior Real Estate Litigation Attorney (7+ years) to join our fully remote team. This role is ideal for an attorney who is comfortable managing cases from start to finish, enjoys legal writing and strategy, and is looking to continue developing their skills in a focused litigation practice.
This is a results-oriented role with a high level of independence. We value attorneys who are proactive, communicative, and take ownership of their work, while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
• Manage cases from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and analysis
• Handle discovery and meet and confer efforts
• Take and defend depositions
• Participate in mediations and trial preparation
• Develop a case strategy and apply legal analysis to facts
• Communicate directly with clients
• Collaborate with team members to strengthen work product and strategy
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and improvement in legal writing, analysis, and overall litigation skillset
Qualifications
• Active license to practice law in California (required)
7+ years of litigation experience
• Strong law and motion experience
• Excellent legal writing and analytical skills
• Ability to manage cases independently
• Deposition experience preferred
• Trial or trial preparation experience is a plus
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Comfortable working remotely
Work Expectations:
• 1,440 billable hours annually
• Consistent communication and responsiveness
• Ability to manage deadlines and take ownership of assignments
• Engage in ongoing professional development and actively work to strengthen legal writing, analysis, and litigation skills
