Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms presented by clients.
• Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that align with their specific needs, preferences, and therapeutic goals.
• Implement evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), adapting techniques to fit the unique context of each client.
• Educate clients and their families on mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care practices to foster empowerment and recovery.
• Monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans based on ongoing assessments and feedback.
• Engage in collaborative care with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to client wellness.
• Stay informed on the latest research and developments related to mood disorders to enhance therapeutic practices.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of all client interactions, adhering to legal and ethical standards of confidentiality and privacy.
• Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and professional development opportunities as part of our commitment to continuous learning.
• Advocate for clients by enhancing awareness around mental health stigmatization and addressing their individual needs effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our organization primarily serves a diverse population of individuals experiencing various mood disorders, including depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Many of our clients may also face additional challenges, such as homelessness, immigration-related issues, or histories of domestic abuse. Qualifications

• A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to build secure and trusting relationships with clients through exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathy and a nonjudgmental attitude towards the experiences and struggles faced by clients are essential.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage workload effectively and fulfill administrative responsibilities.

Preferred Experience

• Experience providing therapy to diverse populations, particularly those facing mood disorders.
• Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic techniques and a demonstrated ability to adapt them to various situations.
• Experience in community health settings or similar environments is a plus.

• Competitive annual salary in the range of $70,000 – $90,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
