Popular Manchester-by-the-Sea restaurant, Cala's, is currently hiring a Part-Time Host/ Food Runner to join our team!

This is a wonderful opportunity for a fun, enthusiastic, gracious person who likes to have fun while they work. The hosting/food runner position requires strategy, organization, confidence and the ability to think on your feet and to help cultivate a great vibe. Responsibilities of the Food Runner:

• Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables quickly and accurately
• Act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff
• Assist the wait staff with table clearing and setting
• Act as the final check on all dishes to ensure food is served in accordance with our plate presentations, any guest modifications including special requests and allergies, as well as safety standards (e.g. proper temperature)
• Communicate any guest requests to the appropriate server if it is not a request that you can fulfill yourself
• Refill guests' water glasses as needed
• Remove dirty dishes and utensils
• Inform restaurant staff about customers' feedback or requests (e.g. when they ask for the check)

Requirements

• Must be 16 or older
• Must be able to work nights and weekends
• Work well as a team and have excellent communication skills.
• Have a natural ability to make people feel welcome, comfortable and taken care of
• The ability to maintain a level of composure and grace under fire.
• Someone confident who isn't afraid to jump in and help where needed
• See what needs to be done and lend a hand in making it happen
• This is a year round position, not a summer or seasonal job
