Job description
Job Description: Burr Hand
The Burr Hand is responsible for burring, polishing and finishing products by removing excess or oversized material, burrs, sharp edges and cracks.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Performs burring and/or finishing operations on various aerospace components by referring to discrepancy reports, shop orders, blueprints and other instructions related to location and amount of material to be removed.
• Checks dimensions and physical status of parts to determine the burring method required to correct discrepancies, exercise caution to prevent abnormal alterations
• Assists in positioning and loading parts on machinery
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills and Physical Requirements:
• 3-5 years prior work experience
• Possess experience in all aspects of burring, polishing and inspecting one’s own work
• Possess good reading and writing skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to understand drawings and other written specifications or instructions
• Manage one’s own time effectively
• Ability to follow good manufacturing practices
