Job description

Are you passionate about eliminating waste, empowering teams, and building a culture of continuous improvement?
CP Industries - a trusted manufacturer of high-pressure steel cylinders and vessels - is hiring a Lean Coordinator to lead our continuous improvement efforts and help us operate at our best every day.
ABOUT CP INDUSTRIES
Based in McKeesport, PA, we manufacture high-pressure steel cylinders and vessels used in industrial, defense, and commercial applications. Our team is committed to quality, safety, and operational excellence - and we're looking for a driven Lean Coordinator to take our continuous improvement efforts to the next level.
THE ROLE
The Lean Coordinator is a hands-on leadership role that partners with our production, quality, engineering, maintenance, supply chain, and leadership teams to drive measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost. You will own the Lean program, champion a culture of continuous improvement, and develop the capabilities of our workforce.
Reports to: Operations Manager - Steel Division
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility
  • Facilitate Kaizen events, 5S activities, value stream mapping, and root cause analysis sessions
  • Analyze production data and process flows to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities
  • Develop, document, and implement standard work procedures with cross-functional teams
  • Coach and train employees, supervisors, and managers on Lean principles and tools
  • Monitor and report KPIs related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity
  • Support facility layout improvements, workflow optimization, and visual management systems
  • Track and communicate project progress and outcomes to management
  • Champion a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Technology, Business, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of manufacturing or continuous improvement experience, or an equivalent combination
  • Proven track record leading Lean manufacturing initiatives with measurable results
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred
  • Background in heavy manufacturing, machining, welding, fabrication, or assembly a plus
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ASME, or military quality standards a plus

Skills & Competencies
  • Hands-on expertise with Lean tools: 5S, Kaizen, VSM, standard work, visual management, and root cause analysis
  • Strong communicator and influencer - able to engage and align people at all levels
  • Data-driven problem solver who can turn analysis into action
  • Organized and effective at managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position splits time between the shop floor and an office environment. Floor work involves exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving machinery, vibration, and elevated noise levels. Standard schedule is Monday through Friday during normal business hours, with flexibility as production needs require.
Occasional local or overnight travel may be required for training, supplier, or customer visits.
WHAT WE OFFER
  • Generous benefit and paid time off offerings
  • A meaningful role with direct impact on plant performance and culture
  • Stable, established manufacturing environment with a dedicated team
  • Opportunities to grow your career in continuous improvement and operations leadership
