Work Environment

This remote role allows therapists to work from the comfort of their homes while interacting with clients through telehealth platforms. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the severity, frequency, and duration of symptoms related to mood disorders such as depression and anxiety.
  • Collaborate with clients to create personalized treatment plans that align with their goals, strengths, and preferred therapeutic approaches.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), tailored to each client’s unique situation.
  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, assisting them in understanding treatment options and developing effective self-care strategies.
  • Track clients’ progress throughout the treatment process, modifying treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Work alongside psychiatrists and medical professionals to provide an integrated care approach, enhancing the overall treatment experience for clients.
  • Stay informed on the latest research and trends in mood disorder treatment to continually improve therapeutic techniques.
  • Maintaining accurate, confidential records of client assessments and treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in team meetings and professional development to enhance clinical skills and adhere to best practices in mental health care.
  • Advocate for clients, promoting understanding and reducing stigma associated with mental health issues.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is on clients experiencing mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. The therapist will work closely with individuals from diverse backgrounds, tailoring therapeutic approaches to meet the unique cultural and personal needs of each client. This nuanced understanding of mood disorders allows clinicians to foster a supportive and insightful therapeutic relationship.

Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.
  • Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities, particularly CBT and DBT.
  • Understanding of psychopharmacology and the ability to coordinate care with psychiatrists and other medical professionals effectively.
  • Proven success in achieving positive therapeutic outcomes for clients with mood disorders.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in an outpatient mental health setting, preferably providing telehealth services.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems and telehealth technology.
  • Experience in providing family therapy or group therapy tailored to individuals with mood disorders.
