Job description

Project Engineer I – Mission Critical Infrastructure

Location: Aurora, CO
Salary Range: $65,000 – $85,000

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and technically proficient Project Engineer to support the execution and delivery of modular data centers, power modules, and critical infrastructure projects. This role serves as a key member of the operations team, working closely with Project Managers to coordinate project execution from design through manufacturing and final delivery.

The Project Engineer acts as a liaison between engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and project management teams while supporting the administrative and technical functions required for successful project completion.

Please Note: U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities

Working under the direction of the Project Manager, responsibilities include:

  • Support contract administration by maintaining project documentation and preparing correspondence with owners, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Assist with customer and contractor communications, including meeting coordination, minutes, action item tracking, and follow-up activities.
  • Coordinate internally with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and production teams to ensure alignment on project requirements and material readiness.
  • Support project controls, including budget tracking, billing documentation, schedule updates, and project reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist with permitting and licensing activities, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and properly routed.
  • Track material deliveries, including owner-furnished materials, and communicate schedule impacts or risks to project leadership.
  • Prepare change order documentation, including cost support, scope clarifications, and project log updates.
  • Create and manage project submittals, monitor approval workflows, track responses, and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
  • Maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittal registers, risk registers, and other project control logs.
  • Support continuous communication between project teams to ensure successful project execution and delivery.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Project.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting the design, manufacturing, or construction of modular data centers, power modules, electrical infrastructure, or mission-critical facilities.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu.
  • Understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and mechanical, electrical, and architectural systems used in modular construction.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
  • Knowledge of engineering submittal processes, project controls, and construction documentation.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform computer-based work for extended periods.
  • Occasional reaching, bending, stooping, or kneeling may be required.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to project sites, manufacturing facilities, or client locations.
  • Must maintain regular attendance and reliable transportation to and from work.
