Part-Time Controller

Location: Austin, TX 78744
Schedule: Part-Time, approximately 5 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours as needed
Compensation: $25 - $35

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Controller to provide part-time accounting oversight and support for our organization. This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional who enjoys working independently and can provide high-level guidance while ensuring the company’s books remain accurate, organized, and up to date.

The Controller will work closely with management to oversee the accounting functions, review financial records, and provide support with ongoing bookkeeping and financial reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and review the company’s accounting and bookkeeping activities.
• Ensure the general ledger and financial records are accurate and up to date.
• Review account reconciliations, journal entries, AP, AR, and cash activity.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes as needed.
• Prepare and/or review financial reports and statements.
• Identify and correct accounting discrepancies or inconsistencies.
• Provide guidance on accounting practices, procedures, and internal controls.
• Assist with maintaining compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting requirements.
• Work with external accountants, tax professionals, or auditors as needed.
• Provide management with accounting insights and recommendations.
• Identify opportunities to improve the accuracy and efficiency of accounting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Several years of progressive accounting experience, with Controller or senior-level accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, AP, AR, and month-end close.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Schedule

This is a part-time position requiring approximately 5 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours depending on business needs.

The schedule can be flexible and will be determined based on the candidate’s availability and the company’s accounting needs.
